6 Days Zanzibar Beach Holidays

Famous for its spices and 19th century slave trade, the island of Zanzibar is much more than just a stop on the itinerary and can be considered a destination in its own right. On the eastern end of the island you will find magnificent beaches, interesting activities such as a visit to a spice farm, and the cultural beauty of Stone Town, with its Arab fortifications and minarets.

Itinerary:
Day 1 – Visit to the capital and prison island.
Your program begins just after breakfast with a morning walking tour of historic Stone Town. On this excursion you will travel to magnificent Stone Town, where history seems to come alive. You will visit the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People’s Palace) and the Arab Fortress, a fascinating introduction to the essence of Zanzibar. See Zanzibar’s bustling markets, winding lanes, ornate and angular gates, two cathedrals and countless mosques before visiting Prison Island, where tourists can learn about the island’s dark history. A half-hour boat ride from Zanzibar, where slaves were once held. After the abolition of slavery, it was used as a quarantine camp for the deathly ill. Today, the island is home to a large turtle sanctuary and the ruins of a former prison.

Day 2 – Excursion to the spice plantations and Josani National Park.

Today you will visit the spice and fruit plantations near Stone Town and participate in the famous spice tour. We have prepared a special spice tour where you will not only learn about spices, but also about organically grown herbs and details of their traditional uses in medicine, cosmetics and cooking. After the tour, you will be treated to a sumptuous lunch at our guide’s home, where you can taste the spices and fruits. After lunch, we will take you to a spa. On the way, you will cross the Dzozani forest, the last habitat of the rare endemic red colobus monkey. With a local guide, you will walk through the Dzozani Chwaka National Park and see the rare monkeys. If you wish, you can even take a walkway into the spectacular mangrove ecosystem.

Day 3 – Excursion to the dolphins and Jozani forest.

During the excursion you will visit Kizimkazi. Kizimkazi, a fishing village on the southern tip of the island, is home to several herds of camels and humpback dolphins, which can often be seen after a short boat ride from the village. If you are lucky, you will be able to swim very close to the dolphins, which can be a very pleasant experience. This excursion is organized in the afternoon to avoid the crowds of tourists interfering with the large number of dolphins swimming in the morning.

Day 4 – Blue Zanzibar Safari

In the morning after breakfast at 08:00, depart for the Blue Zanzibar Safari excursion, one of the best adventures in Zanzibar, during which you will not only enjoy a traditional dhow ride, but also snorkeling, swimming and relaxing on the white sandy beach. You will also be able to taste a great variety of seafood. We depart from Fumba or Kikungwi beach at 9:00 am and return around 4:30 pm. Join your Safari Blue guide to explore the hidden mangrove lagoon in the interior of Kwale Island. Swimming in the protected mangrove during low tide is an unforgettable experience. This mangrove lagoon is famous as a natural swimming pool.

Day 5 – Horseback riding and swimming with turtles.

Meet our representative and our representative will escort you to the hotel. Check in at the hotel for two nights bed and breakfast. This day you will take a horseback riding excursion from approximately 10:00 am , the excursion will last one hour on the beach and then swim with the turtles at Baraka Nature Aquarium in Nungwi, Zanzibar Archipelago Upon arrival at the best turtle aquarium in Zanzibar, you will enjoy, feed and swim with these amazing local animals.
